I just installed my Eclipse 6.5" SC6500 Components (75rms) with SE6500 rear speakers (40rms). These are attached to a Eclipse EA4100 Amp (75x4) amp. I have a Alpine cda-9811 H/U.

Question is, Where do i even start tuning? At the amp or headunit? I understand i adjusted the input levels on the rears to half since they are rated at 40rms. But what do I do with the highpass and lowpass adjustments on the amp?

any opinions to get me pointed in the right direction would be great.

Thanks guys

Start the high pass at 80 HZ. IF it isn't enough, play something you normally play at high volume and edge them lower a tiny bit at a time until you hear them stop playing cleanly on the bass notes. Some speakers have different midbass capabilities but 80 HZ is generally a good starting point, though it probably won't be low enough if there's no sub in your system.
