My setup is in my sig.

Alright so here's the deal, I finished a new box today and my TL came in today also (how convenient), 4 @ 40hz. 87sq in of port.

I sealed that bish up with silicon on the inside and outside, used T-nuts to attach the woofers.

I did a 141.9 - 142.1 @ 41hz (can't remember exactly, but it was in that range) with this box at the headrest with the passenger window open. Subs back port back. And another thing, I did a 141.9 sealed up mic on windshield. . . weird.

With the old box, I managed a 142.6 @ 41hz, 142.1 sealed up on windshield. It's specs are 4.67 @ 38hz.

Yes, the subs are wired correctly and my settings are fine. The only thing I have tried is facing it forward which I may try tomorrow but it's usually subs back port back in a trunk.

I can't believe I didn't hit higher. . . putting in all that hard work just to build a quieter box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Are you just going for louder? If so try a smaller box tuned higher. Use the areo's and start at 45hz and work your way up.
Yeah, just trying to go loud. Should I really tune at 45hz? I peak at 40-41hz . . . and 3 different boxes have proven this. So how much smaller? 3 ft3 between the 2?

Hell, I don't know shit, just trying to be loud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

All part of spl... Build, test, be dissapointed, repeat. When I was running 4 12's I was building boxes once a week for them. If you are only using it for spl tune a little higher. maybe build a daily driving box and switch out the subs for competitions.

Even though you are in a trunk car, I HIGHLY doubt you peak at 40-41hz. Also, try firing your sub and port to the side of the trunk, move the box as far to one side as possible.

Yea i would say with that setup you should be doing alot higher DB.

i would try what has alreay been said. try putting in some wood to make the box smaller, and tune it higher.

my sealed setup peaks at 56-57hz, and i have hit 148 on the TL floor windows down. Reg cab Hombre

remove the back dash speakers, fold the seats all the way up against the dash, and as far forward and lift the console lid up, and vent visors down on the window, both windows up, and the driverside door open to the second catch, not all the way open.

this maybe alittle different for you, but just test it and see what happens.

I had a 94 accord 4 door, i was doing 148's with 2 10's at one point and that is what i did to get a little more out of my install, (that is on the older TL mic. mine was tuned to 32 hz for a daily driver. if i would have tuned it higher i would have done alot better.

gonna print this out and bring it to the event:) hope this will work for my 96 accord:)

ryan so my accord is a 4 door, seat passenger seat folding up means a straight 90 degree angle.

EDIT: the 2 door will fold all the way forward, do you think its better to fold mines back or keep it straight up?

im with jntar... for SPL boxes I usually tune about 55-60hz.. try it and see if you like (can't hurt can it?)
Yeah I guess. I'm just gonna take my aero box and cut the ports down tuning higher and higher to find what freq is good. Then I'll build a smaller box, something 3 cu ft sound good, tuned high. I think I'm sold on aero's, slots just ain't working for me.

Oh yeah, can anybody tell me why my scores are nearly the same legal and illegally? I think it's a good think right? Little cancellation?

**sigh** . . . anybody wanna buy the slot box?
