Generally running at one ohm will raise your lower the damping factor and raise your THD, two things people who want SQ dont want.

Well, I got a Stereo Integrity Magnum 12" shipped to me for about $350...you could probably do better if you're patient.

id get 4 ohm but my amp can only run at 500W @ 4 ohms...
