worth every penny and then some- specially after playing with the 'other' brands, no comparison IMO

I payed $550 on a preorder and being the shops repeat buyer, 3 yr warranty installed. Not bad considering they were going on egay after they were released for close to $700- I think msrp is $600-650 range.

I suggest you just check a local shop- plead your case- tell'm you really want the HU and whats the 'best' they can do for you pricewise. While there you can play with it and see if its really what you want. If still too high see what another shop do for ya- someone will cut you a break

Usually you get a 1 year warranty if you install it and a 3 year if the shop installs it.

The dealer has to install it to get the 3 year parts/labor and 1 year ESN theft warranty. You get a 1 year warranty if you install it yourself. If you find another deck manufacturer that even offers a 3 year warranty, let me know.

As for Eclipse decks being expensive. Have you actually priced what you get for the $$$. 5V/low impedance decks starting at $179, authorized.

If you don't know where your nearest dealer is, you can:

A) call 800-55-eclipse and you should be automatically connected to the nearest dealer

B) look in the yellow pages and check out the ads for the car audio shops. They will usually mention what brands they carry

C) Call 800-233-2216 and ask customer service for a dealer in your area.

The big problem I am having is finding a shop that has any in stock. The 5425 and 5435 are sold out everywhere I have checked, within a 125 miles of my town. My local dealer has had them on order (he claims) for 2 months and can't get any. I anyone knows of a dealer in calif, south of Fresno that has any in stock, please let me know.

I have no idea what you are talking about.....I don't know which model this starts on, but the higher lines DO have subwoofer preouts.

And yes, if it doesn't have a dedicated subwoofer preout, you can still connect a subwoofer amp to the HU. You just need to use one of the other preouts.
