Awesome, feel free to head right over to DIYMA, or CT. Im glad you found places you like. I just have to wonder why you feel the need to come here and tell us.

Nobody here claimed CT claims to be a car audio website, in fact quite the opposite in my case. As for bashing it, that's is a laugh. Again, its the CT guys that love coming here to bash this site and try to recruit new CT members. That in and of itself is silly, but then also piss and moan that you guys think ca.com members are bashing CT? Amazingly short sighted of you Eugenics.

We bash this site on valid points. You bash our site on nonsensical points.

Lastly, it seems some of the CT guys have an ego problem going on. Whom of them are you referring to when you suggest it was they who made this site what it is? lol If that's so, great, let them go make CT the well over a thousand visitors at once site this one has been for several years now.

Many of the original members like noah, tommyk, ramos, etc. Do i think you were a part of that? Absolutely. I have tremendous respect for you as a contributor and member. Whenever i had questions you were there to answer them, no matter how silly. But i think a majority of the original members who made this site what it is are over there, not here. Are some still here? Yes, of course. You are one of them.

You seem to have this notion that its the site that makes the experience great, and it's not. It's the people. And if a board makes it difficult for those people to post, it has failed. If the management at the board is so poor that it promotes attrition to the base of knowledgeable, contributing members, it has faiiled. DIYMA and CT would not be there if CA.com had not failed so miserably.

Ive not said this forum is perfect, that the server is protected as well as it could be... Ive simply said comparing its speed/performance and bot population to a fly-speck of a website like CT is simply ridiculous for anyone who understands the topic.

Not ridiculous at all. One site has adequate capacity to handle the users, the other does not. You can say its because CT is so small, but CA.com is not that large in the scheme of things. Certainly not compared to the larger boards out there, and they're just as snappy as ct. The issues don't simply boil down to hardware issues, they boil down to management issues. The sites just not managed properly, from a moderation standpoint, or a hardware standpoint.

 

DIYMA does not have these issues either.

As far as a caraudio resource, this site has plenty of potential. It just doesn't have the management it needs. BC can come in here all day and say he's doing things day by day, but i'd rather see results instead of hollow talk, and excuses. Its nothing we haven't heard from Goob a million times before. Nobody went to these other sites for the hell of it. When we left we had at least half the mod staff as our members. We didn't leave because we couldn't be big enough jackasses here. We left because it was frustrating to see this place not living to its potential, to have a site that constantly goes down, to have no communication with the guy who was supposed to be providing direction and a great user experience... blah.

I could be off base, but the only thing I see you posting about anymore is something about CT.com or its members.

Stating the truth is not annoying. CT > The Thunderdome plain and simple. Don't try to say that CT has no point and thats the diff. between ca.com and ct.com. You can't compare apples to oranges. If you must compare something, compare CT to the Thunderdome. and in that comparison, CT wins every time.

its amusing how people try to stick up for this site as a caraudio reference forum. no, if i want facts and not some retards babbling on about spl and jensen equipment i head right over to DIYMA.
you can bash ct all you want, but its never claimed to be a caraudio site.

the new admin can ***** about being bashed himself and ask users to leave. but the fact of the matter is hes talking out the other side of his mouth. because those are the same users that made this site what it is was and the powers at be sure didnt have a problem with the users then.

and you can defend this site saying the robust userbase is where the server and bot issues stem from, but i would imagine the issues are proportionate. they just have admins who actually lead and are proactive. vw vortex, honda tech, ot.com... i dont see them with near the issues and they're larger by far.

The neglect, lack or necessary tools, and plain disrespect is why this site is in disregard. If the moderators were actually acknowledged previously, all of them would have cared more. We could have done a decent job, given the correct tools, and the feedback, interaction, and respect from the inactive admin. Hell, if we would have been showed more appreciation and feedback, he'd be making a hell of a lot more money.

Like it me or not, I've been active here for coming up on 8 years. I've seen the hater/whiners come and go dozens of times, it goes in cycles. All the kids up in arms or excited about the site and the changes, more than likely won't even be around in a couple years. Sure, this site has a large volume of users, but active users and retention aren't nearly as large as the user database makes it seem. Would actually be nice to see a prune.

I just find this new "micro-revolution" to be quite amusing. We'll see where it goes, haha.

I really must say that the major population of CT, the core group of us that spend a good amount of time over there are the ones that posted most of the post on this site and helped it to grow to where it is today. Disagree all you wish, it doesn't change the truth. If CT were a popular subject in the world today similar to car audio, im sure the volume of traffic would be comparable in 8 yrs
