when do I need a new alternator?

I got this Excel Program and it says I need a new alternator to push a 600watt amp... is that true??

How do I know? I want to rig up a 1000/1 to a 12w7 but it's telling me I can't without alot of engine work....

throw your excel program in the trash........pretty much any car can handle a 600 w amp

No you should be fine with a JL 1000/1 and a stock alternator, doing a big three wouldn't hurt though. I have my Us Amps running daily on my stock alternator (1500rms @ 1 ohm)

sometimes theory does not always work in the real world..

the JL should be fine I have over 1k of wattage in a 100amp alt. But if your lights are dimming then you should consider that new alt

The lights dim now on a 500/1.....

Yeah that excel thing I figured was bootleg, someone here said it's good... haha.

you could always start by getting a yellow top, stinger, or kinetic battery
