When a nice detailing isn't enough...

How much clear coat is typically on new cars? I'm about to try this on my black 2000. Idk though the paint has dulled so much Idk if I can save it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
You can probably color sand and buff it but it will remove alot of the clear. They make a gauge to read how much clear is on the vehicle. It needs to be done professionally.

I plan on getting this done once I do some research on the shops in my area. Once it looks like that, you just need a good coat of wax to protect it once evety 6-8 months and that's it. Wash and dry for a mirror look all the time. Definately worth it if you got the $
Washing technique is VERY important after a color sand and buff. I wax at least once a month with a booster spray wax in between. The slicker the surface is when you wash it the less likely you are to scratch it. Also getting a wax that will last is a good idea.

probubly... but id rather have a nice detail job done buy someone with over 30 years experience
30 years experience just means hes gonna charge you more

i use the cheapest mexican mobil detailing service when I feel like being a baller. They roll up in the biggest POS 70's truck and make my car SHINE for $25

ive personally been detailing for a while... i used to detail for an acura dealership...

its not about how many years of experience.... a few is enough, the business isnt that hard, its all about how much time you spend and attention to detail

thats why i use Mexican labor... its cheapest and the best work.... anything else is not worth the money

Not if you know how to detail a car properly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
ive managed 2 detail shops at 2 of South Carolinas largest dealerships. The largest Ford dealership (Formally known as Pulliam Ford) in SC. And Dodgeland, the largest Dodge dealership in SC. i have a vague idea of what im doing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

BTW, your truck is sweet.

I mean anyone can wash a vehicle, there isn't that much too it. Being careful while doing it is another story. If anyone is interested, there is a website for professional detailers. It is http://www.autopia.org As for the comment about the paint feeling rough. There are alot of contaminants that get stuck into paint such as brake dust etc. A clay bar will help but if the vehicle has never been polished that can make a huge difference. The more swirl marks in a car the less it will shine. By the way...that was my truck was my first paintjob //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
