Hey it is all good man. HU's can be just like cars and one can argue or debate between American or Japanese all day long. We are just having a good debate over the HU we prefer. Of course tho I still say Pioneer just because I am running a massive Pioneer set-up, but I always have. Same debate can be tossed to amps, subs, highs, etc.......We are just having some fun and enjoying the thread here. In the spirit of competitions when I am in down time I still enjoy saying I am better than you even tho I may or may not be, but I will sure try hard to prove it or get it done!

I bought a pioneer cd player several years ago. I listend to it for a day, then took it back. My kenwood tape deck sounded better. Yesterday, I went to my friends and he was removing a pioneer deh-p9400mp from his mustang and putting a kenwood excelon in. He said it looked cool and had lots of features, but didn't sound good. Pioneer premier H/u sound good. And sony ES h/u are some of the best. Alpines cheapest H/u has 105 db s/n ratio. A expensive pioneer is only 94 db. most sonys are only 90db. Head units using optical instead of rca outputs will have much better sound quality. If you can find an amp with a optical in.

Hey why do you say the kenwood excelon didn´t sound good?, I think they are great HU , and I´m surprised that they didn´t put em in the poll´, I think they are so cool, 4.5v preouts, lots of features for soundstaging, and they look nice also, I think they are better than the pioneer premier series, but thats just my opinion.

and also the excelons got a S/N ratio of 105 db, I think they should be taken in consideration fo any SQ setup

And they also work fine for SPL , sa a guy here hitting the mid 150 db with 2 strokers and a kenwood excelon HU and kenwood excelon amplifiers, men it was so good!!!

I said the pioneer deh-p9400 hu didn't sound good. It was replaced with a cheaper excelon hu that sounded fine.
