the superbird wasnt banned from nascar... nascar said they can either have the wing, or the hemi they had to choose. the superbird also came with a 440 magnum which is what they used after the hemi was banned...i dont know what happened after that.

My Dad has a '69 El Camino SS (Black and Red). Only it no longer has the 396 (muHAHAHAHA!) Today it has a 540ci all aluminum Merlin that cranks out nearly 800 horses.

He runs in the mid to high 9's at the drag strip. The best part, outside of the over-sized cowl induction hood and the slicks, it looks all stock! You think your going to leave this old chunk of iron in the dust and then it bites your head off and launches it into outer space! I love IT!

My favorite car would be a pair. A '70 1/2 RS/SS Camaro w/ split bumper and headlight covers... and the very latest Corvette (red of course!). That car makes me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/drool.gif.b5e863e893038027711d4402f340dad0.gif !

The first motor to replace the 396 was an LS6 454 out of a '70 SS Chevelle. He messaged it to 425 horses then later sold it to a buddy of mine who had a '69 Chevelle.

The 911's were awesome in there day. I enjoy any car with power that also handles like it's on rails! With my budget however, I doubt I will ever have to worry about owning one. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
