you can def do better than mb quarts. such as polk sr. I'm not just saying that becuase i currently run sr.

From all accounts I've heard/read, MB Quart is a solid,solid speaker. Word from the industry is that they fell off a bit when they were bought out, but that they have been making a real comeback to their glory days of the 80's and mid 90's.

Their P and Q lines are good....but they are known to have a bright metal tweet sound usually, so if you're looking for a more laid back tweet sound, you might want to go with another brand.

The only part of MB quarts that I have ever had a problem with is that their mids sound "boingy" to me and there tweeters are a bit harsh to my ears.

But, everyones version of SQ is completely different. They are solid speakers.

X2 heard a few of their comp systems and they were both way to bright and harsh. Everyone is always like ohhh mb quart...And I just wonder if they only have ears on the sides of their heads for decoration.

MB Quart is a good brand and don't have a bright sound speaker. Like stated, tune it properly etc. and they'll sound great!

i use the QSC 216 comps in my FS Blazer and love them. the tweeter although can be a little harsh has up to -6db attenuation and i also put a piece of silk over the tweet to take the harshness away.

I've been using mbq mids and highs for 3 years, and never felt they were harsh. You just have to tune them and place them right. It's all in the install. They could very easily sound harsh if the installer doesn't know what theyre doing...

This was about 10 years ago that I heard them so I don't know what they are like now...
