holy shit man, thats so sweet. how loud did you turn it up, 70%???

how were they able to give you a noise pollution ticket so quick.... and i dont think thats such a good idea to crank it up in a crowded place while your parked.

i bet you can break stuff in other peoples car if you pull up to a red light and pump it, but it probabaly starts to hurt your ears. i would watch it if i was you... unless you got them all hitting opposites, then you could blow a window or something and turn your car into a shrapnel bomb. hah

I really dont know naything about doing the work. you might want to check with ss3079 with that. I think I read a previous thread that he knew some alternator stuff.

Did you already upgrade the magic 3 wires?

if not That is a great point to start at.

There are 3 wires in your cars electrical system that can be upgraded to achieve beter electrical response. some people calim that this is just as good as adding a 1-2 farad stiffening capacitior to thier system. If you plan on upgrading your alternator or haveing it re-wound this is a must.

Swaping out these wires should yield good results on a factory system as well

1.From the battery to the chassis

Upgrade the wire from the negative battery terminal to a stock ground point of the body/frame of your car. keep it short

2. From the engine to chassis

Upgrade the wire from the engine block to the chassis. There is a stock ground bolt on the engine. Its best if its the same point as the stock engine ground

3. From the alternator to the battery

Alternator output wire

When replacing these wires you want to use thickest you can. 0 guage is a popular favorite but its huge! 4 AWG is more than enough though. Just as long as you just go bigger than your factory wires.

1 is good, two is good, 3 is pointless unless you get a higher amperage alternator- your factory equipment is designed to handle the maximum the factory alternator can produce safely.

sweet man.. i have some red wire that connected from battery to amp in my last sytem. i thought it was 4 guage, but it might be 8....

1. from bat to chassis - so pretty much i just take the negative or black end, and put it to any metal frame or anything? and would this really be helpful?

2. from engine to chassis - this is pretty much the negative part of the battery where i mount the wire from the engine to the metal frame of the car?? and this sounds like a pretty hard one, where will i find the wire?

i just checked it out, and my old wire is actually 8guage. is there anything i could do, or should i just go get some 4guage wire?? would it work to just have 2 8guage wires going from battery to frame?

arguably so. still, since he is already down and dirty, might save a minute or two when he does upgrade the alt.

forget that noise. you want as few grounds as you can. just get some 4 guage wire.

even 8 is not baad, but go with 4.

as far as locating ground points, you might want to check out the sounddomain.com members area. look up your style car and see if others upgraded as well. email them if you can. they would know more so than I do

Hope this all helps

let us know

how it turns out
