i have 2 jl 12w3s in 30hz ported boxes each with 175 watts rms

but my friend has 2 10" memphis subs with 125 watts rms that out bump me no problem

is it cause he is running the at 1 ohm and im running at 4 ohm

actually, there's alot of factors...what do each of you drive? a hatchback sounds so much louder than a regular car does...along with an SUV. also stuff like damping, quality of the box, electrical system, etc...

what kind of amp are both of you using??? the ohmage of the amp wouldn't matter.. usually the lower the ohmage the higher watts (on the same amp) the amp plays a big part on this. then the box.... like i mentioned before that noone believes me, higher watts doesn't mean louder...
