What's wrong with this sub?

Well we took the speaker cable from the other channel and connected it to the "bad" sub, and it played fine. I'm thinking Phoenix is right and one of the channels is bad. We only had about 10 minutes to check it, and i forgot to run wires from the bad channel to the good sub, so I still don't know for sure.

it sounds like your buddy needs to take his cheap a$$ to the classifieds section... and get some MUCH nicer new gear... like maybe some audiobahns.. and a REALLY nice power acoustic amp.. thread :/

Check your RCAs. Switch the front/rear around and see if that changes anything. Could be bad RCAs

thanks for the suggestion, but we already tried to switch the RCA's, didn't make a difference.

Yep sounds like your amp crapped out on channel. Just run one sub to each of the good channels. Any idea what ohm load you had that amp bridged at?

bridged at 4 ohms. So he would be getting alot less power if we used only 2 of the 4 channels though.. Because we couldn't have it bridged

yea, but it would still sound fine. It don't matter now, sounds like he needs a new amp. Snag a cheap kenwood off craigslist or something.

was an obvious joke... NO ONE in their right mind would recommend audiobling and power acoustic....

ACTUAL HELP: unhook both subs... take the wires from only 1 sub.. try each of the 4 channels on the amp.. that will let you know if its the amp.. if it works fine.. try the other sub and do the same thing...
