Whats wrong with my system!!!

When I bridge my amplifier for a 300 w sub on a 125wRMSx2 amp. It has this "breathing" ,"thumping" thing happening in the background on the sub and speakers connected to the amp. As soon as I take it off the bridging and connect it on one channel, it lessens the breathing.

Whats wrong??

Describe 'breathing'. Is the sub moving in and out at a steady rate? Does it sound like a heart beating? What amp do you have to what sub? Is your amp bridged to 4ohms? Is your amp 2 ohm or 1 ohm stable? Is there a protection light on on the amp? - Sounds like the amp is surging and may die soon.

I have a Nakamichi 12" 300wrms sp120w 4 ohm sub on a Starsound 125x4 channel amp- 2ohm stable amp. Yes it is a steady beat in the background like a heartbeat. The guys at the shop checked it out yesterday and they seemed bewildered and took it into repairs. There is no protection light, but 2 fuses. This first started after I heard a big capacitor blowing type of bang when the volume was on 10.(quite soft where my system is concerned)

Can you guys tell me what the problem is as I don't want them to BS me when they give me a quote later today.

I checked with them yesterday , the last channel with splits on it blew to smithereens. and the first 2 channels where the sub was bridged gives off this "breathing".

Cheers

Wallis

Well if you well endowed in reading you would have noticed me saying...I know that something is wrong...they telling me that they were going to replace something...I want to know if they are trying to con me or not. I am not a specialist like your self...thats why I rely on forums like these...so that no-one can con me.

Is that not the general idea for the ones seeking advice??? You were'nt much of a help.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

You are missing something

You declared the amp he described a dead and fawked amp which you cant say based on his information, next to that he tried explaining to you that something was wrong and something was replaced meaning it should be right

Maybe you should spend some time in reading...

I should drop a lil on the marihuana, you'r right

I re-readed the whole story again and now I also dont understand the second question

He asked if it really should be repaired

- You answered : its fawked meaning yes, it needs to be prepared

- He asked again

Soz dewd... totally was wrong about this thread

HELLO !!

Hey Chris 229...You just need to chill out and quit acting like you know it all...To act like that to someone that is new to car audio is totally stupid on your part not to mention makes you look like a total *******....So relax and remember that no matter what you think you know there is someone that knows more...So try being a little nicer to people or don't bother answering questions any more.
