whats wrong with ebay boxes????

I bet it is made in china... if you get it you might have to give it a one over with some screws and/or adhesive...but I guess all the hard work is already done on the box.

However if there is someone on the forum local to you that is good at making boxes and could use the $$ I would go that route.

it didnt even seem like a fair comparison. from the looks of it, the trucks werent the same, and the boxes were placed differently during the tests. also, i dont see many boxes posted on here that uses bolted-L brackets. btw, i dont have anything against home-made boxes nor am i standing behind the pre-fabs.

why would it have air leaks? its also vented..

Most premade boxes have leaks around terminal cups and are not strong because of lack of bracing. Resining up the inside would solve that.

And of course it's "vented"....what does that have to do with anything?

thats a faulty test.... the box was wedged against the curb, the other box that held up was allowed to skid/slid etc...also notice the bolts holding it together , who does that???

go to home depot. buy a 50 dollar Saw/Drill combo...

get someone on here to layout a box design for you for 5 dollars..

buy 60 bucks of MDF and 10 bucks of screws and 10 bucks of sealant and 5 bucks of paint.

if you dont know how to build a box id buy one off ebay. most likely if you dont know how to build a box you are not gonna achieve high dbs anyway so go the easy way out

thats what im thinking id rather not go trhough the trouble and then get stuck with a shitty box and than have to buy one after that.

Well guys heres an update the box has arrived, seems very sturdy and well built, the carpeting job sucks....

the baffle is double thickness..

any info you guys would like on this ebay box, before I install it???

also, i had originally planned to build my own box, but am a very busy guy these days, and somewhat lazy : ), and this box almost matches a box posted in the "sub box plans" sticky
