Drives me crazy when your going down the road blasting your system almost to the point of distortion and then a song that plays twice as loud comes on and just sounds like garbage or theres some ******* in the backround going DDDDDDJJJJJJJJJJ WHOOOOOOOOO KIIIDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD followed by loud gunshots or the song plays for 15 secs and starts over, then does it again, and again, and again:verymad:

about 90% of mainstream sux, rap, rock, country, whatever.., I havent listen to beats in the music in years...Its about lyrics to me, anybody can get a fly beat, or a nice solo rift, but if they arnt talking about anything its pointless...

but rap as a genre does not..Just like any genre of music its art..period..and I respect those that respect the art...

Most of the new rap is complete shit. They all just talk about how rich they are or how awesome they are. There isn't any substance. Just generic beats with annoying shit in between.

There are very few rap artists/songs I like. I mostly stick with the oldschool bass tracks made in the early 90's (ex bass crunk by DJ billy e). and D&B/trance

It's not just rap. Mainstream music in general blows. I listen to my Zune in the car 99.5 percent of the time. I turned on the radio and every top 40 / rap station I turned on I was like "Holy shit this blows to hell and back."

"Music" now is just retarded. Talentless and soulless. It's just for the money.

I would have to agree. I hate pop and all that other shit. I love classic rock but I cant stomach any of this new age bullshit or modern rock. I don't even listen to the radio. Its ipod or burnt cd at all times. Antenna not hooked up to hu.

I'd have to disagree, I have literally > 100 songs by him and I'd say at least 90% of them either expressed an emotion or had a purpose/told a story, and are certainly worth listening to over and over. The majority of the public don't understand what he's talking about and just think its funny because of the crazy shit he says, so it makes him seem like a clown in some of his songs though...

The main songs he does that don't have much of a purpose are when he raps with other people, and its usually a club song or somethin dumb but he still kills it

Oh and OP...turn of the radio and quit buying lil wayne CD's....there's still ALOT of very good rap out there you just have to know where to look

But then again it is more than just the artist who are to blame, it is also the people who buy the albums. I remember when I was in school we cared about lyrics, the 5 mic awards and everthing. But todays Hiphop generation are idiots, period. I would put the blame on A&Rs too, because they push good rappers to rap lollipop lyrics and rap over audiotone. But at some point, I remember you had to be good to get signed, now all you need is youtube and a camera. :crap:Sad sh*t though, Thats why I listen to older ish anyway. When was the last classic? Hell Hath NO Fury Right? So its been 3 years, then it was a five year classic drought before that..............SAD

Uhm, if you knew anything about rap music, you'd know most if not all of the beats are sampled. But then again, I don't know what ©Rap music you are into.

truth...

most kids these days who listen to rap only want to hear one thing, so producers are going to give it to them...they have to serve a majority, but at the same time it's the artists responsibility to maintain that what he makes IS ART..but if he does that he has a hard time makin it and gettin out there, its a vicious cycle and until the majority of people give up this obsession with lollipop/t-pain type songs...its gonna stay this way

on a side note I actually listened to 'im in love with a stripper' the other day in my car...not a terrible song...just went downhill from there I guess...

Tech Nine did a song where he talked about all the bullshit in the industry today, 'why you ain't call me', worth a listen
