What's up with the unoriginality in Rap today?

I listen to everything with the exception of jazz and country, and I love good club songs (ie rap) and songs that get people hyped up, etc. etc. but it just drives me nuts that countless musicians come up with original music everyday and your gonna sample a beat from 30 years ago and maybe speed it up just a little bit...

It's about the money. You find a rapper that is actually there for the music, you'll find great sound.

Example : Brother-In-Law's best buddy drove up to us while we were walking into the mall. Tells us he's got a new CD out, makes us pay for it. It's remixed from the first album he released, and he even has actual songs from other famous artists that you can tell was the actual beat from the song. If you turn it up loud enough, you can hear the other people rapping, because the editing was weak, and he used a FL Studio's loop to cover up most of it...

Example : Al Kapone (Hustle & Flow), made GREAT music, until he got in the spot light because of the movie. It's still great music, but ever since people have been buyin' his music, it's gone downhill. Before he was making a lot of money from it, it was some of the best (imo) beats that have came out of Memphis in a while, from an underground rapper/producer/

thats why you should listen to metal, even after 25 years there are still new and unique riffs and guitar solos out there.
meh. i beg to differ.

all the songs these days at least sound a little similar to another song somewhere on earth, if not flat out sampling or stealing the entire song to recreate a new one.

i'm a firm believer that there is a finite number of combination of guitar riffs/solos, beats, etc.

yea that shit drives me crazy, I like the raps in mix tapes but I HATE HATE HATE when artist use other peoples beats, for some reason I always have the words from the original song stuck in my head and it makes it hard for me to pay attention to the "new" song. I also hate how artist figure becuase its going on a mix tape that it dosnt need to be mastered properly AS WELL as all the songs done by the same person or at least set a standard. Drives me crazy when your going down the road blasting your system almost to the point of distortion and then a song that plays twice as loud comes on and just sounds like garbage or theres some ******* in the backround going DDDDDDJJJJJJJJJJ WHOOOOOOOOO KIIIDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD followed by loud gunshots or the song plays for 15 secs and starts over, then does it again, and again, and again:verymad:

I feel like this is perfectly applied to Eminem's career

I think I have that same song. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I just love how most rap coming out lately is completely retarted shit and still sells millions.

A prime example is Soulja Boy. That fucker is completely worthless and just writes songs about "dances" that he makes up every 3 days.

I just don't get why anybody actually likes any of the (mainstream anyway) shit thats been coming out lately.
