whats this tuned to?

Umm.. it's tuned close to 20hz actually. It has very little port area and any sub that would sit well in 9 cubes is going to have pretty horrible output and probably a lot of port noise.
no port noise. but, HORRIBLE output. the only time i've ever heard these things come alive is playing a song by busta ryhmes that happend to have a really high bass line ("give me some more") the ports so close to the edge that i'll have to stay with 2.5. so all i need to do is cut a little off the ports then. off to the box building wizard it is.

external size is 20X20X41. internal is 17.5X17.5X38.5. i was thinking that cutting the port shorter was kinda odd after i thought about it. i'll have to take one back to the shop at work and do some more measuring. what size port do u think i should do?

What sub(s) and how many? Also, that enclosure is only about 6.5 cubes, not 9.
oops. did the math wrong. kinda no name subs. i found em at a pawn shop (i know, i know) for work. i think they are about 3, 400w rms. they are dual 15"s though. i'm hoping to just add some bass till i can get the big set of woofers it. (a pair of dual 18" yama's that take over 3,400w rms) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif:yumyum:

No, that wouldn't work at all and it would tune it to 18hz. If you could get your hands on some 8" PVC, you could do one 8" at 12" and that should be pretty decent.

Why would putting two 6" ports in be difficult?

getting a 10' X 6" pipe in my car isn't going to happen //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif i did the 4" instead since it came in 5' sections. allso, while i was working on one of em i found the name plate. offical power handling is for the pair 400 max. so, if i'm thinking right, (feel free to correct me if i'm wrong) that means each sub is 200 max, or roughly 80 / 100 rms. no wonder once i hung them in the air they just died and had little sound. so i ordered a pair of the fosgate subs t3audio_160sdbjeep has up for sale. i remeber having those in the back of my explorer. man they sounded good. so they should be a huge improvment over what was in there.
