at one time or another didn't they make good speakers? my friend has a pretty old (pre hexagonal, if that means anything) 12" xplod in a sealed box and im pretty surprised how it sounds with as little power its getting. about what time did sony start going downhill?

mid 90's is when they went into the crapper. The people who run the company havent been in touch with what the public wants for 15 or so years now.. They've made so much money off of buying little companies and their massive amount of other lines, that car audio is a joke to them. As long as noobules will buy xplode shit, Sony will think they're serving the car audio community up with quality products.

well you must admit, how many times in your life have you seen a Sony Xplode sub or amp (reguardless if it was on fire, or not working). They've sold millions of those $5 subs and $10 amps all over the planet. Of course they think theyve got a good product.

The xplod line was never good. Ever. Sony went to crap when they dropped the Mobile ES line, long before they ever came out with "xplode".

Dude my explods are louder then anyones system on here. I have 4 of them in my trunk, and if you turn them up to high you can barely breath.

sonys a company that likes to mass market and appeal to the masses, in reality they sell alot to people who dont care as much about quality so they do that route because its higher profit.
