I need to know this so that I can select my amp. I wanted to get the Infinity 1211a which claims 1300w rms @ 2 ohms and I'm sure it puts out that much but some say the L7 will blow with that much power but I didn't think 300w over the rms would be that bad. Or I was looking at the Hifonics TX1505D which claims 1500W rms @ 1 ohm but I heard I won't even get 1000W rms out of it. I was also looking at the BX1605D but I'm not sure how much power I would get from that one either. I really wanted the Infinity but I don't want to blow my sub by overpowering it then on the other hand I don't want to underpower it. So I need more advice. The box will be ported if that makes any difference in the power handling.

install dependant man. sealed boxes can take more power and then you gotta figure in your electrical and how much your amp really puts out and all that jazz. i would stick pretty close to manuf. recommendations daily.

thats not what is meant by that. i mean the amount of power it can handle is dependant on the size of box and ports and the real power of the amp and at what voltage your putting out.

oh lol...well I don't know any of that info. I have no idea what the voltage is on my car and the box will be from tcab but I don't know how big. I think I'll just try the Infinity and see what happens.
