one is the "Premier" version and one is not.

Completely different sets. TRS-C720PRS is the hi-end setup, TRS-D1720 is the lower end set. Supposed to share some tech, both sets are apparently great sounding for the price range.

I've got a set of the D-1720s waiting to install, so I'm hoping the early reviews are correct...
