whats the difference in firing subs into the box??

sorry for the long title, but i see this occaisionaly and have never heard a box with this setup. does it sound any better/louder? it looks cool if you have nice looking subs. does it have to be a special made box? thanks
just less sub displacement as for added performance thats doubtful.

From my experience, I have found that one gets less rattle in the trunk from inverted subs. Im under the assumption that less air is moved by the cone when it fires into the box as opposed to out of the box. That would make sense being that their is less cone area exposed. That would explain the decrease in rattle. Can anyone confirm or deny the reasoning?

When designing the box for my sub I called the manufacturer. We disscused mounting it both ways. He told me there is a slight decrease in output from inverting the sub. I can't remember exactly who much though. It was either 5 or 15%. Nothing substantial. I think he also said on the specific model I had the venting of the voicecoils could make some noise if mounted like that. This was all a while ago though. I don't remember everthing exactly.

thats why you make it loud enough where u don't hear it.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The same amount of air is being moved //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
In a vent ap sure in a sealed inverting how can there be? Cone area is decreased do to the suspension?

The only change is going to be the decrease in sub displacment because it is going to be outside of the box. Other than that, which could slightly change how it sounds due to a slightly larger box, there is no change at all in performance. 100% guaranteed I dont care what any of you think. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

here is my old set up looked kick *** and sounded no different then if the subs more mounted in the conventional position. acoustically speaking there is no difference, just make sure you play around with the phase of the subs, it might help you, but that also applies to conventional mounting also.
