Whats the deference between 2- Way,4-Way, & Mono Amp?

Just wondering. Also would a 2-way amp be better for 2 subs or 1 mono?

A 2-channel amp has outputs for 2 speakers (or subs), a 4-channel amp has outputs for 4, and a mono has one ouput. A mono amp would be better for 2 subs.

you can bridge a 2ch amp for 1 sub...or bridge 2 subs into a mono amp...a 4ch amp can also be bridged but i prefer them for components, etc....but the amp to use is dependant on the sub

I'm gonna get two 2 Sony Xploid XSL1290P5 speakers. Was going to get an 2 Channel SD22X or Mono SD51X or SD61X.

If I have 4 Compenent speakers at 80 RMS each does that mean i want an 4 channel amp that produces 80 RMS x 4 at 4 ohms?

Assuming the speakers have an impedance of 4 ohms... yes.
