whats the cheapest and most effecient way to dynamat for sound damping???!!!

I would heed the advice already given early on in this thread - read the link and go from there. Whatever you do, don't go cheap. I tried the whole "peel-n-seal" thing years ago thinking it was going to hold up...and it did...for about 3 months. After 3-4 months I took my door and other pannels off to find the peel-n-seal not really attached to the metal anymore except where I had taped it on the edges. The Raamat I used stuck to the metal, where the aforementioned didn't. I ended up spending 2x more going cheap and then re-doing it than I would have just doing it right the first time. Hind sight is 20/20, and I haven't used anything cheap in years since then.

My favorite is Dyna-search

Raammat is good stuff. For the money it is hard to beat.

Stay away from peel and seal at all costs. Even $13 per roll...

Dynamat Extreme is awesome

Hushmat is good

Stinger road kill expert is real good stuff..

There is also another brand out there that has yet to be mentioned in this thread.. Whats that stuff called?

I have about seven sheets of Damplifier Pro riding in a box which is currently sitting in my passenger seat. I can already tell a difference!

Scientific testing shows otherwise, but you are welcome to your opinion.
Unscientific test shows otherwise too - Damplifier, Damplifier Pro and Cascade V-Max are a significant step with Damplifier Pro being at the top of that elite heap. Dynamat Xtreme is good stuff, just not the best.

The cheapest and most efficient way to get the job done is to not use more than you need //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Sounds stupid, put just laying it down in even layers might be the easiest way to do it, but concentrating on a few things can make your investment go a lot further.

Focus on the centers of panels - the closer you get to edges and bends or welds, the less effective adding sound deadener is. Before you start working on a panel, tap on it with your knuckles or a screw driver handle and listen for areas that are most resonant. Focus your attention there.
