whats the cause

i was comparing my type x to my friends type r's they are both 12" and his seem to hit at higher frequency is this do to the diffrent amps since he has a rockford and i have a phoenix gold or is because he uses a loc and i connect mine directly to the hu with rca's

any thoughts

Are you both using ported enclosures? Or is he using a ported enclosure and you've gone with a sealed one?
