Assuming that was sarcasm, but for the people that take it seriously:

Ever heard the expression "Don't keep up with the Jonses, because the Jonses are broke."

Thinking just about today and not tomorrow is why people have put themselves in debt. The new cars, big screen tvs, going out all the time, all on credit while just paying the minimum. Sounds like a materialistic lifestyle to me.

Bottom line: Only spend when you need to. Yes it's good to splurge every now and then(car audio system is an example) and you can still have fun. Manage your money well, and a better lifestyle will follow.

search search and more searching.. The deals are out there. I picked up my amps for 225 shipped and my hu for 130 shipped. There are even better deals. If you need rca's I would get the prem. ones from monoprice.com cant beat for the price. Also you can find some good deals on this board too. I would just save up and when something comes up for sale know how much you got and work from there

you may find a retail shop that does finance on equipment but the only down fall is paying RETAIL and also depending how much you will change speakers, hu etc..

lol I would hope that people would not sell crack to just get some sound. If you gonna do it might wanna try to get a new car, house, etc....... If you are gonna take a risk like that. lol but people do crazy things. j/k dont do it! lol......

I just have $180 taken out of each paycheck at my job for 6 month's and it goes into a savings account that I can't access until the 6 month period is up and I have the option to cash it out or roll it over for another 6 month's. You can roll it over until it hit's $10,000 or I can cash it out and they cut me a check for the amount in the account. I will be getting a $2160 check on May 16th if I decide to take it. Maybe see if your place of work has anything like that or just start your own saving's account and if you have direct deposit have them deposit a certain percentage of your paycheck into it.

Abercrombie,It sounds like you might be a student of Dave Ramsey?? (Good advice).I think I would get an idea of what you want. Then hunt and search to find things to buy a piece at a time.It seems easier on the wallet that way.

Repair your own amps. Saves a chunk of change. Still have to pay for subs though, go for some blown powerful subs, and have them reconed, etc. I got 4 L7s 15s, 2 2kW amps, and box for about $400, not including the alternator and batteries.

I just take bits and pieces of his book and apply it to my lifestyle. I find it easier saving money more than spending it. The occasional splurge on car audio or something nice is fun, but I refuse to pay retail price and always strive to get it as cheap as possible.

With the way the economy is, everything can be had cheaper. Just have to look around for deals!!!

It's tempting

Buy some sh*t and keep the receipt. then when you have a combined total, thake the sh*t back and go buy your car toys. I do that occasionally. I do but something, maybe use it once or twice, then I return it and go get something I been waiting on funds for. Or you could get two bank acounts and one of them you walk in a deposit everypayday, Cut the bank card. Soon you forget you have it cause you dont see the bank card in your wallet.... Or break every dollar you got laying around and toss it in a empty 5gallon water container. Too much trouble to dump the change out so you keep breaking bills. soon you have $$$ in coins and other accounts. $1000 comes quick. depending on your income, I'd say 6 months you should have that saved. These work for me. Paid 3 months or rent from change once. * you can slip bills in the 5 galon too and burry it in change, helps alot too.
