Im looking in putting a nav into my Lincoln ls...im looking to stay under 600 bucks from ebay.. I see the pioneer avic d2 and d3's are similiar prices..i know the d3 is the newer model but the retail price on the d2 is like 600 dollars more on the pioneer website..which one is better? If you can suggest any other units in that price range on ebay i'd appreciate it..im tryna find one that will look as stock as possible..the dash in my car is silver

My brother just returned his BNIB Avic-D3 in favor of the new kenwood 8000 series (double din.) He heard terrible reviews on the Pioneer's navigation system; Somewhere along the lines of sending you miles past your destination only to do a u-turn.

Kenwood also paired up with Garmin to develop a nav system. I've seen it in action and in comparison to my Garmin 550, its pretty **** nice.

oh ill have to look it up..the pioneers just look pretty ncie and are relatively nice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif..im not as concerned with the nav although i want it to work..i want it to play dvd nicely th o

I would buy the D2 and updated maps, the D2 allows you to keep the map disk in all the time(it has 2 slots) , you don't have to do memory nav like the D3 (1 slot).Personally, I prefer Pioneer nav to Kenwood, and I sell both at an Authorized Premier/Excelon dealer.

yea i noticed the d2 had 2 slots in it and i find that really convenient..my sister has a chevy nav and you have to take out the music cd every thime you need the Nav..

I have an n1 and also a ddx6019 with the garmin nav.I personally like the pioneer over the kenwood for ease of use and POI's.But the kenwood does have the built in nav so I don't have to take out a cd/dvd everytime I want to look something up.

yea im not too concerned with nav..just kinda like the look and dcd playback of the pioneer..there aer other units that cost the same and have no navigation so i kind of see it as a bonus

if you use your ipod most of the time like I do then the single DVD slot will not bother you.

Its kinda like a hardrive based system if you leave the nav disk in and ipod only.

No disks to swap or anything

Pioneer Nav is great around my area and has never made me do a big u turn.

You can adjust the settings for the route (free way only, fast route, shortest milage)

Mess with those settings a bit and your nav will make you happy

yea i think the d3 is the best for the money..for under 600 bucks it has everything i need..i cant really complain about little things being it is so cheap...

avic-d2 does NOT play dvd's, the D3 sucks because you have to use the navi discs, same the n1 and 2, pioneer makes the best navi units out there, hands down. they dont make the best dvd units or monitors, but hands down they make they best navi units. the best one that you can buy right now is the Avic-Z2. pretty pricey, my shop sells them for $2,100.00 but they are the best you can get right now hands down. better than kenwood, alpine, and eclipse nav units. good luck
