if this happens will the sub not work? my sub stopped working so i thought a wire came loose which is why i took it out of the car in the first place, then i found this. so is this why it stopped working or is there another problem?

No, dont use epoxy. That joint needs to flex.
Pickup some incredible goop and use a tooth pick or take the cotton off the end of a q-tip.
