Exactly. There is much more to a deck than processing. Build quality will determine how long it will last. Reliability will determine how well it will perform. As noted by Rich B, the quality of the preamp signal sent out to you ZAPCO processing is only going to be as good as the signal sent from your head unit. Why would you choose a sub par head unit that sends out a clipped and/or shitty signal to HIGH PRICED gear?? Makes NO sense. That would be like buying a $40 Goldstar DVD/CD player for your house and feeding that signal to a McInstosh preamp and amp. Get what we're saying.?The most important reason to buy a good HU is for a better preamp to drive your amps with less noise.
The SOURCE unit is the MOST important part of a system. Because if the signal is bad to begin with then it doesn't matter how GREAT the rest of your system is.
