hey everyone ive been away for a while and i thought id come back i used to have 2 RE HC's 12's, i was wondering what is good now or whats a decent buy that would be compared to the hc's or the se's?? thanks

Your HC's are still great subs.

XXX's are the current forum boner, but Soundsplinter (http://www.soundsplinter.com) also makes some excellent drivers. They're not quite to the same e-boner pantheon that RE is holding right now.

eD is still rebadging (I mean, building) drivers, but they've changed their buildhouse to Image Dynamics.

Ascendant Audio (http://www.ascendantaudio.com) is also a relative newcomer...their Atlas and Avalanche subs have a loyal following around here.

Adire Audio is still around, although they're in the process of going from a semi-direct ordering system to dealers only. They're also completely re-doing their product line.

i was looking at them se's and called RE they gave me a retailers number near me and he wanted like 280 for a single se is that how much they are? i thought they were a whole lot cheaper than that

That's retail. RE won't sell direct to you if there's a dealer in your area, so the factory direct pricing doesn't apply.
