What's louder?

holy crap bro, this isn't rocket science.
do series coils, parallel subs and your at 2 ohms.

retard guide to DVC wiring:

very possible the shop you had wired the old subs to 8 ohms if the guy was a tard. also, make sure you subs aren't wired out of phase. That could do it.
Out of phase is good advice too, i forgot about that.

So basically, first thing to check is your wiring to the subs.

10s wont have the same output as 12"s by any means. About the original question though, i read that when wiring the VC's in series it increases motor strength (bl) for some reason, i havent tested it or anything though. I always wire everything in parallel inside of the box, then just series at the terminals, that way if i need to change something its simple.
My 10's eat 12's for lunch, 15's for dinner and occasionally snack on an 18.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

So paralleled voice coils/series woofers vs. series voice coils/woofers paralleled pretty much sound the same?
That hurts to to read. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

Yes.And if you were only getting half the amp's power, then you were probably at 4 ohm, and your only other option was 1 ohm.

With dual 2s, you can get 2 or 8 ohm. Most monoblocks aren't 1 ohm stable, so they put out their best power at 2 ohm.
That's funny sheyot right there! I thought thats why you by mono block amps is for the 1ohm stability.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

OKay I'm gonna try it..
How'd it go?"

Wat. Ohms law.

Because speakers can talk to amps.

Resistance determines how much current will flow. Resistors are used to control voltage and current levels. A very high resistance allows a small amount of current to flow. A very low resistance allows a large amount of current to flow. Resistance is measured in ohms.

Yes, when you wire coils in series BL doubles, but Re quadruples (compared to parallel wiring) so actual motor force (BL^2/Re) remains constant, and since Re has quadrupled (compared to parallel wiring) Qes and hence Qts stay the same aswell. Le also quadruples when wired in series compared to parallel, but again the Re/Le ratio stays consistent because of the increase in Re.

So in reality, it doesn't really make a lick of difference performance wise to the driver.

I got the subs out and checked the wiring. They are wired in series coils/parallel woofers. The bridge on one sub is a positive speaker wire and the bridge on the other sub is negative speaker wire. Both subs have a wire that connects the pos and neg. Is that correct?

What it shows on the wire, or the color of the wire doesnt make any difference. Its just a wire, and a color, all it matters is the subs are wired right. OK maybe thats now what you were saying by that, i dont know. Either way it doesnt matter haha..

And you wire ONE positive and ONE negative together on EACH sub. Then wire the positives together from both subs, and then to the amp. Then the other negatives of the two subs together and then to the amp. That gives you a 2 ohm load. There isnt much else to tell you, its right there in the diagram to make sure its wired right. If not, make sure the subs are in phase (all positives and negatives are hooked up right, and subs are moving the same direction as each other)
