What's louder?

Seriously? I used to have two dual 4 ohm subs hooked to my kicker zx 750.1 and I was only getting half the amps power. Today I got the dual 2 ohm subs thinking it would be louder but it sounds all most the same. I thought maybe the wiring was wrong..

10s wont have the same output as 12"s by any means. About the original question though, i read that when wiring the VC's in series it increases motor strength (bl) for some reason, i havent tested it or anything though. I always wire everything in parallel inside of the box, then just series at the terminals, that way if i need to change something its simple.

Yes.

And if you were only getting half the amp's power, then you were probably at 4 ohm, and your only other option was 1 ohm.

With dual 2s, you can get 2 or 8 ohm. Most monoblocks aren't 1 ohm stable, so they put out their best power at 2 ohm.

Is it possible that the shop wired my two dual 2 ohm subs to have a 8 ohm final load at the amp. My amp is 2 ohm and 4 ohm stable.
