Alright guys.. so i know in order to get in increase in DB's over your current setup you either need to double the power, or double the cone area... but how would this work out?
Say i have a 800 watt RMS Amp, and im looking to get subs that match the 800 watts RMS good.. Which would be louder?
Two 12" Kicker CVR's rated at 400 watts rms, for a total output of 800 watts divided over two drivers
or say a single 12" Alpine Type R, with a RMS of 500 Watts, and driven by 800 Watts with a single driver?
If i did the alpine choice, i wouldent have double the cone area, but ide have double the power on a single driver, so wouldent it all work out, because instead of bringing two seperate drivers to a lower potential with lower RMS, your bringing a single driver to a much higher potential with higher power going into it alone?
Would any of those selections be noticibly louder?
What about a 15" Type R ? its rated at 750 watts, and im giving it about its RMS with 800 watts?? Any suggestions?
