that's alot of work and money to piss off the neighbor. i have a jbl 12" sub with a built in amp that cranks. so check ebay and save yourself some cash. mine nocks th frames off mine and all my neighbors walls.... i found out the hard ... and then the cops showed up. so i have to watch movies with it off now. oh and remeber home amps usually run @8ohms not 4.

So long as he's got the proper coil configuration(s) on his sub(s) it shouldn't present a problem.

yea i didnt think about that but the sub is quad 1 so I dont think I'll be limited to wiring options.... And yes that WOULD be alot of work but I want to upgrade it (home system) anyway... I'm tired of looking at my stock tower speakers. (sealed btw)..

I figure I'd get some mid and tweet satilite (sp) speakers and have just one cabnet with the subwoofer in it.

yeah, why not get a 1000w plate amp from parts express. dont run car amps in home.

buy a powered subwoofer for home audio I'm not sure how much they are running now.. but I got a nice 12" KLH one for about 170.00 4 years ago.. have replaced the sub in it.. but it's still awsome. it could be your best alternative.

well mine is a built in 250 rms jbl trust me it cranks! for a house system its pretty good
