WHats everyones take on sealing my 15 L7?

since you are building a system for the gf, why not just seal the L7 and put it in her car? then buy yourself a new sub with the money that you were going to spend on her

I was thinkin about that...but right now she really doesnt drive much, and we do all the drivin in my car...but in the near future im going to be using her car as my daily driver when we buy another civic...so much to think about

you could sell the l7 to someone local with the box(some high school kid would love it), then get a good quality 12 or 15(FI, TC, Soundsplinter, etc) and build a box much smaller. For example, a Soundsplinter RL-p 15 can be in a ported box as small as 2.5 cubes, and you wouldn't believe the SQ difference.

If you are set on keeping it, try a little bit smaller box(i don't know what kicker requires), and you could try 3cubes sealed, or maybe 4 cubes ported around 30hz to try and even it out a little.

sounds like you dont need a 15 inch sub to me...... it definitely gets low sounds like its doing its job to me.... its probably just not hitting your techno like you want..... get a 10 or 2

size has nothing to do with it.

in the right box, which should be at the top of your priorities it should be able to hit all the notes fine.

I am right. plain and simple.

in the right box you could make an 8" play just as low as any 18", and still play highs just as well.

he said hes having trouble with the higher end, he just needs a new box as far as im concerned.

I sealed up 2 kicker L5's to see how they sounded and they did not sound too bad. I actually liked it. Try and seal it and see how you like it.

Yeah I think im going to seal it around 3-4 cubes and see what it sounds like.... worst case scenario Im out 30 bucks, and gain experience in box building.
