WHats everyones take on sealing my 15 L7?

Man this thing gets loud but sometimes it sounds like AS S, and its currently in a 5 cubit foot box in my trunk, so im thinking about 2-3 cubes sealed...opinions?

You could do it, but it would seriously lessen the output. If you want something that sounds better a different sub would be in order IMO.

I agree, every Kicker L5 or L7 I have heard is just a fart box.

Very ture... I just dont have the money now to get a new sub...now that im putting a complete system in my girlfriends car..

ALso I dont have any deadner, and the sub is not facing the correct way in my trunk... so that would make it sound worse... overall im extremely happy with the L7, just some songs not so much

Well I know in audio what is good to others might be crap to other etc, but im pretty flexible when it comes to that, so I was going to try something like 3-4 cubes like 32-34hz

Sloppy? Too peaky? Doesnt get low?

I think that would determine what box to go with.

Well really on multiple notes during like techno sometimes it sounds like its hitting all the notes but they sound muffed a bit(I dont know)....I know not having deadener is a factor, and I know the way the sub is facing is a factor, problem is when I made the box I mad it an inch and a half too tall, so I had to really shove it in there...and the sub is facing sideways....Its not a really big deal because I am satisfied, I was just exploring my options on getting the box out of there, and making a smaller one to have some more trunk room, and to maybe get it to sound better.

I guess out of those 3 terms, its more sloppy, it definately gets low

IIRC a big box will get low well, but get sloppy at higher frequencies, and vice-versa for smaller boxes.

Maybe this doesnt work for ported boxes, but i know it does for sealed.

sounds like you dont need a 15 inch sub to me...... it definitely gets low sounds like its doing its job to me.... its probably just not hitting your techno like you want..... get a 10 or 2
