Say I want to run 5 subs. Should I put them all in one box with them all sharing the same airspace, or put them all in one box and seal each sub's section off? This is all hypothetical.

I'd say section them off. From what I remember (I used to see lots of boxes) this one van I saw had 18 kickers sectioned off..

for SPL do common chamber and get the subs as close together as you can.,,if its ported any way

I would just make seperate chambers.If something happens to one sub you can still use the box without makin a plug or affecting airspace.
