both of the above are awesome amps, the Sundown can be had for way less than the JL, and Sundowns Customer service is second to none!
this is one of the HUGE reasons why JL can ask the prices they do.but the sundown would not be at 1 ohm and would limt it by a bit a little bit of rise and you would be at near 2 ohms and getting 600 watts
for your set up i would go whith the jl as it act like you have the money
The rockford 1000.1 bd would work perfectly and their amps this year are the best they have had in forever!
Mine puts out 1428 @1 Ohm @ 14.4V
Rockford is very, very good stuff either way. I would go with itplease tell me you are joking!not saying they are junk but theres no way they compare to O/S RF
to each their ownRockford is very, very good stuff either way. I would go with it
Please tell me you are joking?all of alpines equipment is about 2/3 of the price of JL equipment. I wonder if there is even a difference between the two? I think alpine is just as dependable since iv'e owned jl and alpine subs. They both can take a beating.
WRONG!to each their ownRF's higher end amps are great from what ive heard and seen
most of their products arent worth the box they are in these days though
^^^^Agreed....except I think the Type R SOUNDS better, but the W7 hits WAY harder. But I think Alpine and Jl are closer than say JL and Kenwood! Alpine still makes quality stuff but Big Box stores ruin companies! Please tell me you are joking?
You are comparing them based on dependability and asking if there is a defference?
I like Alpine, but JL is leaps and bounds beyond them. The build quality, sound quality, the power handling....everything about JL is way beyond alpine.
The W7 can get just as loud as the Type-R, and sound 1 million times better. JL's amps dominate alpine...trust me dude, I dont buy JL, but JL isnt a brand you buy for the name like mainstream audio...JL is expensive because it isnt built cheap and crappy.
And for the record Ill take a sundown over JL when you cinsider the fact that, you get a little less, but pay a lot less.
