what do you guys think. i got a new xbox elite and do not need my RROD xbox 360. i called before i bought the new one and they said i had no warranty left. so what you guys think i should sell it for?

360 warrantys were extended to 3 yrs, so 360 warrantys are expiring now. People that claim they can fix them can only temporarily fix them. The x-clamp replacement method fails after a few months.

thats what i thought i called in gave them my serial number and they said i don't have warranty. i did buy it on the original release day though so i think its been three years?

ya no warranty left. ya it sucks to its worked perfectly and them randomly one day go to play some halo 3 and i get the RROD.

i think that's a rumor.. because when i bought my elite about 3-4 months ago the sales guy at sears told it it had 5 years. i was like holy shit sweet! when i got home and opened the package and read all the crap it only had 1 year. though up to 5 years worth if i purchased the extended warrenty that is offered. i purchased an additional year of warrenty for mine right after i got it, the lady i talked to on the phone stated the start date and the finish date of my warrenty which it pretty much started 1 year after the purchase date of the console.

so if they extended the warrenty to 3 years for every console well then i must be missing years or something. they should have told me after i purchased the extended warrenty that the 360 has 3yrs instead of one.

edit: i just did some searching for the 3yr warrenty thing to read up on some of it. i guess they did do this in mid 07, but why wouldn't it be given to my 360 after it was purchased after the date of their announcement?

u have a 5yr warranty through walmart or wherever u purchased it probly....thats what my buddy got with his elite..

thing was i was told by the guy at sears that sears doesn't cover warrenty on 360's anymore cause and that the warrenty was through xbox. i know this because 2 weeks after i bought mine i returned to sears with my brother and he bought himself an elite, asked the warrenty question, and the guy said the same thing about 5 years. though, i asked if it was through sears being that i only received 1 year through xbox. which was when he said no it was through xbox, and these were 2 different sales men.

when i bought mine today at BB they said 1 year manufacture warranty? and they said that it was the #1 most returned item in there store. didnt really help the cause. but they were trying to sell me there warranty for 80 bucks for two years so they were talking shit about it.
