Whats a good Amp For AQ HD315 ~2000 watts rms

ill probably stick with the hifonics...

i shouldn't go any bigger, i dont think my electrical system in my current car can push any more.. with my battery, i think its like 760 or 860 amps and stock alt. =(

A HO alt for my car was quoted at around $600 :eek:

The perfect amp and one of the most efficient and cleanest amps made is the DD M2....It would be perfect for that sub....

Here are the test from the DD website...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

This is what I got on the M2.

Max power @ 14.4volt 60Hz

4.6ohm = 1200w (74.3v)

2.3ohm = 1911w (66.3v)

1.15ohm = 2602w (54.7v)

I say take your time and save up that cash. It'd be a daamn shame to see you running a hd315 off 1kW with stock electrical.

You're one part closer to an awesome system. Don't start skimping now. Let that hd3 sit for while until you can really make it happy.

The HD3 will is a very efficient sub and will get very loud on 1400 watts. It will get very loud on 800 watts. In my personal demo vehicle (2004 chev excab) I run two HD310's on DDS1 amps with 600 watts each and it is a very loud setup. J Ledgerwood does a 148.1 legal in dbdrag off of 400 watts on two HD312's. This can be verified by looking it up on dbdrag's competitor stats. Better yet go to http://www.soundpressure.com forum and ask the guys over there. Chris Dekker took first place in his class at Meca World Finals last year with a 150.1 (It was AS1 or AS2) with two HD312’s on 1000 watts.

hasnt it been said that doubling power only gives you like 3dB increase or something? so much power might not be necessary for a single sub daily driver

hmm that Power Acoustik 3000 claims 2300 watts at 1 ohm... so a a little less then that and i still have more watts at a cheaper price then the hifonics =)

I may have to reconsider

And PerfexionX

thanks for finding that great quote.

Hoping my car doesn't fall apart with this massive beating its going to get.

This project will be going under construction within the next week or 2 as soon as i get all my stuff.

Ill keep you guys posted on how it goes
