Whats a decent 5 1/4 speaker?

Hello, new to the forums. Hoping to get some good input from the regulars here.

For starters I own a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab.

I`m not here to trick it out with subs and the loudest amp I can find.

My stereo is stock. I have 6x9`s in the front doors and 5 1/4`s in the rear doors.

Recently the rear speakers have gone to hell. Not loud and NO fidelity. Even when I put the fader to the rear. Mostly sounds muffled.

I`d like your opinion`s on a good quality replacement for the rear doors. I`m not looking to spend alot of money, but I dont want roadmaster`s either.

Possibly in the price range of $60.

These speakers would need to fit in the door panel neatly just like the origional did.

I also will be looking into replacements for the front speakers, even though they still sound good at this time. Any suggestions here?

I do not have the Infinity system offered as an option on these trucks. Just a stock cd player/radio with 3 sliders for bass, treble and midrange.

Eventually I will change out all componants. I`m looking to get a radio that has mp3 in and aux for possible sat radio. Currently the cd player is finiky and wont play any burned cd I make anymore, when before it would. cd head clener doesnt help either.

Thanks for your input!

^^ Buck knows. I have Boston accoustics all around in my 02' Dodge Ram Quad Cab. The rear speaker fill could be non-existent and soundstage is much better. I still use them because I have a really good processor that has a good time delay. I know of a couple of people that run these>

Silver Flute W14RC25-04 ohm 5-1/2" Wool Cone

If you were gonna use them, i would seal the doors up really well, it will make them sound better. I would really look for some really good speakers for you front stage. A good head unit is a must though.

I`m not going for a powerhouse stereo. I want good sound quality. Your saying 2 speakers are better than 4 when it comes to sound quality?

I'd get a couple of coaxial speakers for the rear doors so I could turn them up if my passengers want it, but I wouldn't spend much of them. If they're powered by a head unit, I'd just consider cheap 3-way Pioneers A-series or similar because their tweeters are crap and so they won't interfere much with the front stage. With a better amplifier, I'd probably use a something better, like Alpine Type R.

I got a pair of alpine sps-13c2 coaxial speakers for like $44 to replace my front door stock speakers and I was very impressed a lot less distortion and a lot better sound especially for the price. I would recommend them
