the baffle is the face board that you mount your woofer to...just keep the one the sub comes with just in case you want to sell it.

you should keep it for a couple of reasons...incase you ever sell it its always nice to sell something the way it came to you...and depending on how you plan on building your box you know already have a perfect circle that is made to the cutout diameter of your sub so you can use that to cut the hole for your enclosure
