what you're motor oil of choice?

i use castrol gtx, and usually quaker state filters. works for me, but any oil will do as long as you change it regularly. (make sure its virgin)

So what happens when you're coming home from the grocery store or leaving the mall and you hit 2,999 miles on that oil? Do you pull over and change it?
I bet at least 1/5 people posting in this thread lied about what oil they use //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif or they waste their money on high dollar synthetic oil.
you think i would do that??? i try to change it before it hits 30000 miles is what i was basicly trying to say..

it looks to me that you guys canfind a way to bicker about anything!!!! shit!!!!

Good choice, what is your drag car?? 20-50 is great for boosted machines
Why do you say that? The "weight" of the oil really does not mean much as far as I see it... doesn't really have to do much with viscosity, HTHS, cSt, what it should be used for, etc. Meaning specs vary by brands... 20W50 in one brand is different than 20W50 in another.

i use kendall motor oil, it is a synthetic blend. what sucks about full syn. is that once you put it in you are stuck with that you cant mix conventional and full syn. i prefer to change my oil every 2500-3200 miles about 2000 is when i can notice a gas mileage drop and performance drop. had it changed yesterday as it was in the shop and gotta love the performance now
the price is wrong bob! from mobil1....as well as what i learned from my auto instructors....

"Question:

Mixing Synthetic and Conventional Motor Oils

Can you ever blend synthetic oils and conventional oils? If so, what is the ratio?

-- Julie Patten, Des Moines, IA

Answer:

Yes, synthetic oils can be blended with conventional oils. Several companies, including ExxonMobil, market synthetic blends which are a combination of synthetic and conventional oils. In the case of ExxonMobil, the ratio of synthetic to conventional oil in these products is considered proprietary information. "
