first id hit up RE to see how much the recone will cost because only RE will do recones for the MX

I (or whoever buys it) can get away w/o a recone... but the motor that's in there won't last too much longer.

Coils... I thought the coils were part of the motor. Excuse my lack of knowlege.

Like I said, I can get away with not having a re-cone, but it needs new VC's. They have 4" VC's, which I hear aren't cheap.

no, but it'll start smoking after about 20 minutes.

are you sure that its not user error on how the gains are set/clipped signal?

Fi can do the recone call them or just order a recone from their site. As for how much to pay,what is the seller asking? I think the recone will be like 100.00

all gains on the amp are around 75-80%, sub-sonic at around 20hz, deck EQ'd flat, LP at 120hz

Amp is a PA bb.2400.1

Got a quote from RE... $187 + s/h for recone AND new VC's. Now it's choice time... might get it fixed, sell it, and get two of the 12" version.
