What would you do without the internet?

My internet is going to get disconnected anytime now, and I don't know what I'm gonna do. I don't own a TV here on base, and I can only go workout so many times a day .
What is worse is that I'm not even leaving this base until Jan 31...thats like 2 weeks with nothing!!!!!

So what would you do? How important is the internet to your daily life?

I kinda am with out the internet in a way. I used to have it accesible 24/7 and I was always on it reading stuff, talking and whatever else you could imagine.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif Anyway, I ended up getting a virus on my home computer and well still have yet to get it fixed. So at home, where I spend most of my time I found out that I dont need to have a computer to get by. I just read, watch tv, cook or try to cook, play games with my fiance's kids and then mess around with my cars and just chill. Yes, I use the internet at work, which is where I am at, but really I have about 80% of the internet blocked due to this websense blocking everything. Dont bother me as I usually just get on here or the local newspaper and on occasions I hit up a sports site. So if I didnt have it, I know I wouldnt miss it all that much.

We had an ice storm here a few years ago and knocked out electricity for almost a week. Got a lot of reading done. Try reading some Stephen King at night, with no electric lights anywhere in town, by the light of an oil burning lantern. Pretty cool.

happens alot here with the offduty pay internet in iraq. then i usually just get some extra sleep in

Get a Blackberry from Nextel or Sprint or the like. Unlimited data plan = constant internet FTMFW! I get tons of email from work that i have to deal with instantly, and i am in the office about 1.5 to 2 hours a day. Blackberry is a life-saver. You should look into it!
