if u just got a 99 tahoe to what would u put in it?

my friend just got one and he's trying to spend around $500 for a budget system. he mainly listens to rap and is not an audiophile. all that is really needed is some good drivers that can hit good midbass, subs that perform well, and probably 2 amps. he already has an alpine hu. all suggestions are welcome

need a little more info.

Space limitations?

number/size of drivers preferred?

type of front stage wanted?

preferences on amps?

That is going to be really hard to find for $500, but can be possible.

For subs, I should suggest just one good sub, maybe a 12" RL-P.

Also, I would just like to comment on your signature, and I would like for you to disconnect that Audiobahn sub from that JBL amp, thats amp deserves better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif

CORRECTION: MY FRIEND HAS A 99 GMC YUKON (which is the same as a chevy tahoe)//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

don't hate on my audiobahn sub:) . i'll admit that i can't wait to hear another sub in my car to compare the 2, but for now my audiobahn performs well enough for me:cool: .

i'm not sure yet, but i think there's four 6" or 6.5" in the doors. not sure what size is in the back. they may not matter ultimately anyway. would one 12" do it for all that cabin a yukon? i was thinkin if he went with one sub it'd probably be a 15"

One 12" can easily outperform a 15" sub, it is all in the install, (box/amp.) And one 12" RL-P will deffinitly get plenty loud in that SUV, if its got enough power and in the right box.

Also, find out what the mounting depth is in the front door panels.

oh and as far the front stage goes, i think he'll prefer to stick with some good coaxials with 50-100rms watts. so he'd need a good amp that can do 50-100rms watts x2.

i think 600rms watts in my car is more than enough bass (check my sig). will 600 rms watts be enough for a yukon? keep in mind we just want enough watts to allow for loud volumes that aren't hazardous to hearing. me nor my friend is interested in breaking db records

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif oh my god....my friend, the internet just told me that the 99 yukon comes with 7" factory speakers in all 4 doors:yumyum: .

so could we buy some prefab kick panels for a yukon for the coaxial/components up front; run them with 75wrms and put the ED eu-700 (midbass drivers) in the front doors, if they are deep enough? those would also be on 75wrms.

then run the rear doors and the rear speakers off the hu. then all that's left is the sub and it's amp.
