doors take 5x7's...right now i modded it to accept 4x6's cause i had em laying around....im going to replace them and im not sure if i should get 5 1/4's , 4x6 plates w/ seperate midbass (4"), or the 5x7's...from what i've heard the round speakers give more mids then oval....thx guys

5-1/4"

Good dimension for mids and I don't like the oval speakers. Never did sound right to me. They were developed to fit a space in a car, so they inherently sacrifice because of that.

Depends....plate speakers are much better than the oval's. So, here is the first time for you I guess, "My Boston Acoustic 746 plate speakers (4x6s) sounded really good."
