What would happen if...

Depending on how its geared, Cars that can take off from working the clutch with no gas will. cars on a flat or small decline can.
hm. my car won't stall unless i dump the clutch with no gas. i can coast and my idle will push my car along without it stalling. i was just curious because the few times that i've tried to start it while it was in gear, as soon as it lunges, i realize that i need to stop trying to start it and never did it for long enough to see if it would start.

lol. See post 25.

Depends, I used to have a nissan truck I could turn over if left in gear, without using the clutch and it would jump forward.

my nissan does the same lol. i can start it in nuetral without puttin my foot on the clutch:veryhapp:

Weird question but it 100% depends on the car and how worn ur ebrake is. In highschool I was hanging out with my friend and we got chased by the police so he took off and ran. He had a Ford SHO something or other and after we lost the bacon he noticed his e brake was on the whole time,,,,,It smelt terrible.

Talking about a manual car.
I ask because I'm thinking of using the parking brake as a safety switch for a remote start. I can't get a neutral safety but I can get a parking brake safety. Looking to know what would happen to see if it's worth it.

I wired a relay up to my parking break to where if it is not engaged the car will not remote start. I the car is in grea it will lunge foward a little

Also depends if it's a FWD or RWD car. It would be a lot less likely to lunge if it's a RWD. And yes my truck would start in about the same amount of time it would with the clutch in ( about a seconds worth of having the key cranked to start. Of course with just a bit of feathering I could take off in 5th with that little truck.
