what would give me the most spl?

Hmm.. boomboom21, what are you trying to accomplish exactly? I understand you want "SPL" so are you looking to be competing only? Do you just want to be more so loud than to have SQ?

Whatever you do, do not put three different subs in the same enclosure, lol. That is not a good way to become louder.

it's in a .9 cu ft box net tuned to 40hz.... gotta watch the low lows, but it is a beast.... and I think that ill stick with the v1 just because the v2 have different parameters and I dont know what mixing them would do in my box.... I also had a "pound off" at school today... went up against 4 dual 12's and that little 8 just destroyed them.... I was told by the dual owner that I "cheated"....
Lol. My system wouldn't impress anybody from loudness, it's about the Ess Que (going to do an IDMAX hopefully to replace the Type-R //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif). It's still "very loud" to anybody that hasn't heard a proper system, and will embarrass a BestBuy prefab and Kicker square combo, but is nothing huge. It's loud enough for me though.

OP, you're probably better off doing something in the cab, a pair of GOOD 12s in the cab will be much louder than 3 cheap 15s in the bed. Not to mention stealing that box from the bed would be pretty easy, it would be an easy smash and grab for any thief, something you don't want to be a victim of.

A typical "blow through" will normally garner a 3db loss vs. having the same cone area in the cab. If you can lose the back seat, build in the cab and you'll like it. I'm currently building a hybrid that will put all of the cones and port along with 1/2 the box in the cab similar to my current setup. I'm using the front half of the bed for the rest of the box volume.

I'm mad. On the other hand.. Just take into consideration what some of the more reputable members have to say, i'm sure they will make their way in here soon enough.

Lets just say that there is a lot of basics to learn etc, and i'm sure a lot of these people could help you acheive your goals.

Good luck with your build though man! Just kinda stray away from anything you were planning to do previously.. to get loud its going to take a lot more than a few mis matched subs..

Also, what amp will you be using? sorry if you stated this before, I might have missed it.

DUALS! FTW! Lol! How'd you cheat? Have a couple 15's hidden somewhere? Why do high school and college guys like Walmart crap? Not a good place for car audio. The place I get my shampoo and toilet paper at is not the place where I should get my subwoofers or amps! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
I would love to use this in my sig hahahahaha

lol learned a lot in the last 6 months now realize how stupid my plan was! i did blow through the rear window tho but completely sealed it off and made a nice box for 2 dc m2 lvl 4 15's on a old t2k powered by 4 group 31's all 0 gauge.... got a 144 on term lab now going for 2 18's walled in a car (not sure what car yet) on a 4k amp

i bet that I can get one 8 louder than your 3 15's...
Just out of curiosity what might that be? On the same power I find it hard for an 8 to be louder than 3 15s. And I'm not referring to his 15"s specifically just 15"s in general.

ok then. throw those 3 15s in a 3 cu ft sealed box on 500 watts. then throw and 8 in a .7 cu ft ported box tuned in the 60s on the same power.

oh I see what you did there... I meant more of an even comparison, both ported, same tuning, enough volume for their surface area etc.
