what would be the best batt's to use on this setup?

This is going to be my first big system build. i've always used stock electrical on little systems, and now im going big. this is going into a f-150. im going to be powering a American Bass Vfl-450.1 at .25ohm on a soundstream xxx 15. using a 250 HO alt. never messed around with batteries so which and how many would be a good choice?

I sure am seeing a lot of quarter ohm references on the forum lately. You want to run a very nice, very expensive, very legit 5k @ .25 daily and you don't know what you need for electrical?

yeah its either 1oh or .25 since its quad 4. i've heard stories of people saying if you have the eletrical to back it up you will be able to run these amps at .25ohm with out any problems.

I understand running at .5 or .67 since Ive done that myself with no problems on 2 different amps. .25 is silly though.

i mean i do but i really havnt looked into batterys all that much. i was thinking about going with the xs batt's but i was looking for something a little cheaper.

A $1k+ amp @ .25 daily and you want to cheap out on batts. *sigh*

Get 3-4

-XS D3100's

-Odyssey2150's

-NSB90/100's

and run 1 ohm daily. Save the .25 crap for burps.

Those batts are just the top of the heap. There are similar batts that can get the job done, but that's what I would be/am/have run.

AudioSavings is having a "group buy" on XS' new line of batts. The "XP" series. Killer prices. Check those out. Keep in mind though that they're not designes to be used as an underhood or starting batt.

Haven't heard of SoundQuest. It's possible it's just a knock-off of a popular brand though. Post a pic and let's check it out. Have you load tested it?

I used 4 optima yellow tops when I was running my Solo X's, but when I got rid of them I sold most of the batteries. I've been to a couple comps with people using the Kinetik HC batts and I've heard a lot of good feedback, but that's just word of mouth. I actually just bought 4 of them off eBay to see how I like them. Audiosavings is running a good deal on them as well. 2 HC2400's for 580ish with free shipping.

Oh and I don't know about .25ohms but I know that VFL should take a pretty good beating at .5 no problem
